The XL 1 edges it for me because of the interchangable lens system, and its color movable view finder, and it looks cooler!!! Seriously the XL1 is a serious piece of kit, but theres not much to choose in the quality of the image between that and the Sony.

I aggree with Roy there. The image quality is very close, although some would say that the Sony has better picture quality. Then again the new XL-1 that has just been released takes care of the problen indefinetly.

can someone put up some "stills" from each of the cameras demonstrating the picture quality? I still can't decide which camera I should get..
